Counselling Therapy Services
I’m a Registered Counselling Therapist & Canadian Certified Counsellor who works with people who are curious about understanding themselves on a deeper level. They want to develop a kinder relationship with their different “parts”, build practical tools for greater inner stability, and feel more connected to themselves and the world around them.
My counselling approach interpersonal, integrative and person-centred. In other words, I marry evidence-based tools with ethically-grounded holistic approaches to address the whole person. I’m spiritually-informed, values-based, and feminist. I draw from various modalities including Career Psychology & development theory, Acceptance & Commitment Therapy, Internal Family Systems, Emotional Freedom Techniques, Jungian psychology, and Nature-Informed Therapy.
Some modalities & complementary interventions I use:
-
A grounded, spiritually-informed service based on traditional career development theory & Jungian psychology. You don't have to leave your creative, woo-curiosity or intuitive language at the door.
Career decision-making brings up feelings. So we will get clear on your next steps by identiying your values, interests, archetypal personality, gifts and sacred constraints. If you’re burned out, you may have a deeper desire for alignment.
I specialize in career psychology and I use my 9 years of experience to support people who do not fit the standard template.
Whether you are starting out, transitioning, or reimagining your entire path, we explore the practical and the existential together.
-
Evidence-informed and holistic, this is a clinically beneficial approach for those experiencing grief, burnout or just looking to get out of a traditional talk therapy dynamic.
We discuss what’s on your mind while being in relationship with the more-than-human world. Usually taking place at Point Pleasant Park, we engage in gentle movement or sit up against a tree, find a bench or oceanview while in session.
Sessions may include walk-and-talk, a mindfulness sit-spot meditation, nature mandalas as a projective technique, letting-go rituals, gentle movement, or simply grounding into the surroundings while processing your life, with nature acting as a “co-therapist”. Read my article on nature-informed therapy here. Available during all four seasons.
MY AFFILIATIONS
I run CEC trainings for therapists on how to incorporate nature-informed therapy into clinical practice.
I prescribe nature to clients through the ParX program.
I am Certified in Nature-Informed Therapy with the Centre of Nature-Informed Therapy

Image-based projective techniques were originally used as assessment tools to gauge underlying motivations or narratives someone carries. From a Jungian lens, this powerful approach uses symbolism, archetypes, and active imagination to support deeper self-exploration.
Within counselling, Tarot, oracle, or art cards are used as ethical reflective tools for meaning-making, similar to other creative approaches in art therapy or depth psychology. Imagery is not used for prediction or divination. Instead, they offer visual language to explore emotions, values, and inner experiences that may be difficult to access through words alone.

EFT or guided “tapping” combines Eastern tradition with Western psychology. It involves acupressure points, focused verbal cues, and nervous system regulation to help shift what feels stuck.
It can be used for anything from MRI anxiety, everyday stress, conflict, and performance nerves to triggers or emotions connected to earlier experiences.
Disclaimer: As an integrative therapy practice, complementary approaches may be incorporated to support insight, emotional processing, self-awareness, relaxation, or other therapeutic goals when clinically appropriate. These may include spiritual, Jungian-based, mindfulness-based, somatic, energy-based, symbolic, or other complementary practices. Such approaches are used to support the counselling therapy process and are not intended to replace counselling therapy or medical treatment. The inclusion of any complementary approach is individualized and based on the client's clinical presentation, treatment goals, professional judgment, scope of competence, and informed consent.
I do not believe therapy is one-size-fits-all. I do not believe we need to analyze or manage your problems into silence.
We work with all the parts of who you are and explore patterns. We may also build communication skills or re-evaluate your lifestyle. We process emotions using creative tools and imagery.
I may quote poetry, films, or books in session. I’m also the kind of therapist who may give you something therapeutic to “chew on” between sessions: an article, a workbook chapter, a podcast, a guided meditation, or a letting go ritual if you’d like. These aren’t assignments for the sake of it, but ways to deepen our work and give you something to carry throughout the week.
Why I’m Using Emotional Freedom Techniques (“Tapping”) More in My Practice, and Why It Works
Emotional Freedom Techniques, also known as EFT “tapping”, is a targeted, practical approach that uses acupressure points, targeted verbal cues, and nervous system regulation to help you work through specific challenges and create shifts that last beyond the therapy room.
This is active, embodied work. We do not just talk about what is happening. We move it through.
By the way, I do not touch clients. I guide you through the process, so there is no physical contact involved.
Emotional Freedom Techniques and tapping therapy is a practice with evolving research and is considered experimental in the field of psychology. It is an effective protocol with over 300 research studies and 103 randomized control trials. You can read more about the research on the ACEP website, or read my blog to learn more about how EFT works.
Nature-Informed Therapy is more than just “being outside”
This unique, embodied, and evidence-based approach combines the benefits of counselling, gentle exercise, and intentional time spent in nature.
Nature-Informed Therapy, sometimes referred to as ecotherapy, has an overwhelming amount of research that shows how direct contact with nature relaxes your nervous system and gives us the opportunity to integrate creative ideas, emotions, and insights. Just as walking in the outdoors is an option for counselling, so is finding a spot out in nature to sit mindfully for our therapy session.
When we engage with the natural world intentionally, it becomes more than a backdrop, it becomes an active partner in the healing process.
Through nature, clients can experience:
Gentle, rhythmic sensory input that helps calm and regulate the nervous system
A steady, nonjudgmental presence that echoes the feeling of secure attachment
Opportunities for shared regulation and embodied safety
A broader relational space that eases intensity within the therapeutic relationship
Tarot & Image-Based Projective Techniques
Do you remember the “inkblot” test?
Jungian projective techniques were originally used as assessment tools to gauge underlying motivations or narratives someone carries. This powerful approach uses symbolism, archetypes, and imagination to support deeper self-exploration.
Within counselling, tarot and oracle cards are used as ethical tools for meaning-making, similar to other creative approaches in art therapy or depth psychology. This approach is not used for prediction or divination. Instead, they offer visual language to explore emotions, values, and inner experiences that may be difficult to access through words alone.
This is one technique woven into my broader counselling practice, is used when it feels meaningful and appropriate for the client.
I also run regular CCPA-approved workshops on the Clinical Use of Tarot in Counselling, teaching other regulated therapists the psychological underpinnings, historical context, and ethical documentation with therapeutic Tarot.
